Global Midwest Alliance invites you to a program in the Alliance's 2023 Innovation, Growth and Globalization Industry-Focused Series. Past food industry programs have focused on a number of topics, including food safety, global food production and sustainability, food supply chain management, packaging innovations, the impact of food, nutrition and technology on our health and wellbeing, and the crucial role of IT in the food trade.
Ongoing research in biotechnology and food science offers hope to those around the globe who need help gaining access to enough safe and nutritious food to have a healthy future. Research on food quality will also play a primary role in meeting the nutritional needs of people around the world. According to the World Bank Group, high food prices have triggered a global crisis that will drive millions more into extreme poverty—a crucial chance for research to bolster efforts to feed the world.
Companies in the food and agriculture trade face both new opportunities and challenges as they move forward in these vital endeavors. In addition, they can play an essential role in providing a means for nations to gain access to innovations in biotechnology and food science. The food and agriculture industry is a key sector for the Midwest economy, especially as a generator of new markets and employment. World trade connects Midwestern companies globally—both enabling and boosting initiatives to defeat hunger and malnutrition through advances in biotechnology and food science.
Join Global Midwest Alliance, sponsor, Kerry, and leaders from industry, government and other organizations at host, the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, as we discuss a number of the important contributions of biotechnology and food science in combating impediments that are holding back progress in world relief and development. The program will feature distinguished keynote speaker, Vivien Sheehan, Global Vice President of Research Development, Applied Health & Nutrition at Kerry Group, along with expert panelists in the programs Innovation and Growth and Global panel discussions.
The cost to attend this industry program is $95 per person, payable at the time of registration. You can attend virtually or in-person for this program. Please register on or before August 28, 2023.
