World Bank and Multilateral-Financed Projects Energy Workshop

The Energy Project Practical Workshop is a co-initiative between the Alliance and Illinois’ Gas Technology Institute (GTI), hosting the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and the international community, to promote industry understanding and engagement in the international project and procurement process in the energy field.  This learning and exchange session will take place at GTI as a two-day intensive on natural gas needs, and opportunity for the U.S. companies to engage globally.  Attendees can expect to hear experts discussing regional development needs, the IFI procurement process and funding, as well as specific project case studies and partnering opportunities.

This successful annual energy program is in its 5th year, welcoming numerous companies and country representatives from around the world to the World Bank and the United Nations. The Alliance, as the World Bank Private Sector Liaison Office for the Midwest, will accompany Midwest companies participating in a week-long intensive program on energy progress and needs in the developing world, and engagement with the World Bank and other IFIs on global opportunities via procurement channels and consulting. Companies will also have the chance to engage one-on one with IFI representatives and showcase their own success and experience to an audience of industry experts.

The Innovation Competition provides a showcase for developers of new technologies offering competitive returns for investors and customers while providing solutions to global challenges. The companies featured in this competition are developing products and services that promote the productive and responsible use of natural resources; reduce negative ecological impact; and provide superior performance at lower costs. These finalists will go on to compete at the Midwest Clean Tech Open in Minneapolis, and then the national Clean Tech Open competition.
